Draped in Elegance

In this blog post, I confess I'm so biased towards this outfit- this 6 yards of love and sheer elegance, makes every woman look like a dream. Yes, Saree has my heart forever!

The saree, a traditional Indian attire, is extremely versatile, has so many avatars, suits well to all body shapes and is universally flattering.

As per the famous quote, 'reigning my love for the timeless classic', this time I am showcasing my love for a traditional silk Saree. This stunning, beautiful piece has been lying in my closet for a long time.

All these years, I kept thinking that my saree draping skill is an aspect to be enhanced and was also waiting to get that hourglass silhouette ... and then came the realization that perfectionism is nothing but an illusion, slowly I learned to accept and take pride in my flaws. Anyhow, we can never control the filters others use when they look at us, so it's best to let go of all these socially inculcated norms and own our true self, be imperfectly perfect and flaunt our flawed authentic self.

So, dropping all inhibitions, I finally decided to don this gorgeous saree and guess what, I did manage a graceful drape! I loved how well put-together it looked.

The easiest way to oomph up this classic style was to find the accessories which blend in a unique way. As the saree itself is so appealing with a color that radiates celebration, so vibrant and harmonious, I didn't want to go overboard. To accessorize it, I wanted something minimal but which makes a statement.

As I had imagined, this surprising combination of oxidized silver jhumki earrings in glorious pink color looked so fab & stood out eye-catching. Exactly the reason why I always advocate mix & match, never miss a chance to style the outfits in unique ways and channel your creativity.

Another glance in my ethnic wardrobe and I just knew this pretty embroidered clutch (gifted by a very dear friend) would just elevate the style so much. These traditional treasures never fail to make heads turn.

For the last and the most important touch, as I always say, don't forget to light up the ensemble with your best smile. :)

The saree makes me feel so proud of my culture and heritage. As they say, women in saree are like snowflakes, unique and beautiful in their own way...

I'm sure, the final pleasing, subtle yet stylish look will rekindle your love for classic designs as well.
